Then I have decided moving to recently discovered village of Frigiliana. And it has been a warm heart three lovely years spent at the Plaza de la Constitución. Destiny wanted to move me forward — so I have landed in La Línea de la Concepción. So I have finally landed in Punta Umbría, on the serene southwestern coast of Spain. Mornings with sea breeze and cup of coffee on the balcony, remote work with a view. It is waiting for the right moment to rise again. I have questioned myself if I want to pay overpriced seasonal flat rent during the high season. And I already knew the answer to it.

So then the day of the childhood f145h84ck came, and it sparked up my imaginary powder keg!

🌏 The Atlas That Planted a Seed

I still remember the moment I got my first World Atlas as a child. I was eating information about all countries inside. Because all are important. I was flipping through pages of unfamiliar borders and flags. Then I landed on two that immediately stood out: Nepal and Bhutan.

There was something mysteriously beautiful about the sharp mountain silhouettes of their flags. Two countries tucked high in the Himalayas. This double page from the Atlas became quickly my favorite one. And it has locked in my subconsciousness.

Time was passing, so my interests has been drifting. But fascination with Eastern cultures was still sleeping.

✈️ Wanderlust in the Background

Over the past two decades I have explored most of the Europe. I have visited Azerbaijan and Israel back in the days. Earlier this year I added Africa to the list by visiting Rabat in Morocco.

But something was stirring beneath the surface. I have just landed at SVQ airport. It was late evening, so I couldn’t get home to Punta Umbria. So I stayed in Sevilla in the hostel overnight.

And there the old fascination came back to the scene.

High season in Spain is coming soon. I know I don’t want to pay for fixed rent in Spain during the summer.

🌐 Executing Asian Adventure in Tabula Rasa mode

In that moment, something unlocked in me. No long analysis, no overplanning. Cost optimal route was from Vienna over Singapore to Bangkok. A flight for around 250 EUR appeared. So I booked it.

Suddenly, I wasn’t just thinking about Asia — I was flying there.

🚀 10 Weeks, 1 Experiment: Me and Carry-on Backpack

This is how my Asian Adventure began.

This isn’t a holiday.
